I Spy…

I was running a few errands the other day when I made a routine stop for a bite. As I got closer to the restaurant, I saw this girl out in front doing some fundraising. I was too hungry to be stopped… and here’s what happened.

So all in all, it wasn’t such a bad thing that I ran into the fundraiser girl. Who knows how long I could’ve gone without noticing the wee spider? Which makes me wonder, how oblivious can I be during the other seemingly mundane settings in life?

I never used to mind spiders at all. Then I realized in grade 5 that, as a girl, I was supposed to be afraid of them. This ruined my love of bugs and now they startle me pretty hard if I find them in unexpected places. I try to remember not to smush them though, them just belong outside is all.

Catherine, that’s funny, I went the exact opposite way. I was always terrified of spiders when I was growing up. Then I worked in environmental fire prevention for a number of years, which meant working in weeds, trees, brush, poison oak and all sorts of other places spiders like to live…. so I got used to the ’surprises’. ;)

haha! yikes! I hate avoiding the fund raiser people, but that was a good story, funny, and really creative if she was just making up the spider thing to have you sign up, that’s the kind of thing I would stop and listen to what they have to say. :P
