2009 was an interesting year, as I jumped around from personal journal stuff, visual development on my graphic novel ambitions, some small sketch commissions, and the usual flow of commercial work. It all made for a mixed bag of styles and ideas as you can see here.

I focus more on comics, using this journal to play with brushes, inks, and looser watercolors. Moments from life are boxed into panels and short sequences.

Freshly inspired from my trip to Europe, I spend the rest of the year working on my storybook portfolio. The downside is that my journal pages slow down. I filled an entire book in six weeks while I was in Europe, but take the rest of the year to fill this one.
