The artwork is based on a sketch I made during a family stay at the Asilomar Hotel Grounds in Pacific Grove, California in August 2022. The Asilomar is where my grandfather worked for many years – long enough they gave him a retirement ring, which he gave to me shortly before his passing in 1995. The place seemed a fitting spot to visit as I was coming up for air on my own long-term projects. I hope this piece of art brings you the same sense of calm the Asilomar brings me every time I think about it.

Although these are prints, through the process of inking the block and rubbing the baren over the paper for every single print, they are each original works of art in their own right, meant to be collected and appreciated for many years, possibly even generations. It’s almost like getting an original painting for the price of a poster! With that in mind, please note that each print is slightly different, some with slight variations in color or with little artifacts (such as a slight print artifact in the margins) due to the hand-printing process. I’ve carefully selected 75 of the best ones out of over a 100, choosing only what I would proudly hang in my own home.
